Prime Minister Launches Apna Ghar Housing Scheme Nationwide

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the “Apna Ghar Scheme” and announced that he will personally monitor its progress. The initiative aims to help citizens build homes through easy loans and expand affordable housing across the country.

Moreover, the scheme offers loans of up to Rs1 crore on easy terms for eligible applicants. It will be implemented across all provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the program is designed to reduce the national housing shortage.

In addition, the prime minister directed banks to follow regulations strictly while issuing loans. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated in the implementation process. He also stressed that financial institutions must actively participate to ensure the scheme’s success nationwide.

Furthermore, the government has set an initial target of financing 50,000 homes under the scheme. The long-term goal is to expand this to 500,000 homes within four years. The total project size is Rs3.2 trillion, with Rs321 billion allocated for financing support.

Finally, the prime minister said providing shelter to citizens is a top government priority and a moral duty. He confirmed he will review the scheme monthly to ensure progress. The “Apna Ghar Scheme” will help thousands achieve home ownership across Pakistan.
